Brand You is a creative agency that acts as a one-stop shop for new and growing businesses that  need help with their brand, their logo and stationery and other print material, and their website design and development. Whether you need help with one aspect of your business (i.e. logo only) or a mix of solutions, we can deliver what you need using our in-house resources.

What types of businesses do you work with?

We work with new or growing businesses that make us think "ooh, that's interesting"!  Often this also means working with business owners with whom we "click".  As a result, we have worked with all sorts of businesses, as our portfolio will affirm.

But who are you?

Our permanent team-of-four (Suzanne, Marilyn, Nat and Aislinn) are passionate about demystifying the whole "branding and website" thing that every business is encouraged to "invest in". 

Suzanne is the founder and creative director of Brand You and she gets involved in every project, often in account management capacity but sometimes in a fully-hands-on capacity too!.  Her expertise lies in business coaching, website design and website development (yup, the "techie" stuff).  She is also responsible for some of our project management and most of our marketing.

Aislinn is Brand You's lead designer, and she's now responsible for most of our creative output Suzanne.  She works closely with Suzanne on all brand-related work including logos, stationery, business cards and print material, as well as website design and HTML newsletter design.  She's slowly starting to dabble in development too. 

Nat is Brand You's latest addition, bringing with him 11 years of experience of application development using C and C++, PHP, Java, ASP, XML and a variety of other languages.  He helps with the development of content management websites, as well as custom application development and integrating custom programming into our content management tools.

Marilyn is our wordsmith, and she writes content that can knock your socks off - or, more to the point, knock the socks off your customers.  She helps to generate names, come up with creative taglines and slogans, writes website copy, prepares case studies and suggests text for print material too.  

Creative agencies are a dime a dozen these days, so why use Brand You?  

Good question.  We can think of 6 good reasons off the tops of our heads...

  1. We've all had "real jobs".  Suzanne was a programmer, then an IT project & programme manager then a trainer and consultant before specialising in design and development, Nat has worked for several large not-for-profit organisations as an application developer, Aislinn dabbled in accounting and Marilyn worked in business development.  We are not graduates who know nothing about how "real" businesses -  big and small - work.  So we can all contribute useful information and bring insight from past experiences to help make your project a success. 

    We also know what it's like to juggle a "real job" with a new business idea, so we can help you there too.

  1. We're mad about communication.  It's essential in helping us understand your needs, share our ideas and get the job done.  So we try to avoid jargon and tend to stick to "straight speaking".  When we think that things are getting lost or misunderstood, we raise this as an issue and get your project back on track.  

  1. We do (almost) everything ourselves.  Between us, we provide brand consulting, website design, website development (the techie stuff), graphic design and general business advice based on over 10 years of business experience and 4 years of working as "creatives".  We do occasionally outsource work, but this tends to be for specialist needs - for example,  if you tell us that you must use Ruby-on-Rails as a programming language, we'd probably have to bring in the skills!

  1. We enjoy what we do and people tell us that we're good at it.  Our designs really do act as visual identities for our customers, our technical solutions are developed with your needs in mind (as opposed to our preferences - we don't like blinding you with science!) and the advice that we offer provokes interesting responses like "Ooh, I didn't think of that.  That could really make a difference to my business."

  1. We're all individuals who have made the leap from the corporate world to working for ourselves.  Our approach tends to be practical, professional and integrated and we love helping other "risk-takers" launch and grown their own businesses.

  2. We're careful about the projects we agree to take on.  We make a point of getting to know you and your business as thoroughly as possible before agreeing to take on your project.  If we don't feel that we can work with you, or do a good job on your project, we won't take it on.  This means that if we do go ahead with your project, we are already very confident of a positive outcome.

When choosing to work with a creative team, the bottom line is that you need to feel comfortable with the people you choose to work with.
